Club Space Miami is temporarily pausing programming, along with its sub-venues Floyd and The Ground from June 2 onwards, to allow for urban development in the local area.

The multi-story 24-hour club space has played host to a number of big names in its time, including Honey Dijon, Disclosure, MK, The Martinez Brothers and Deborah De Luca.

The renowned Miami-based institution announced the news of its closure via a post on Instagram, saying, “We are taking a summer break to run renovations that will allow us to dance together for many more years to come.”

Club Space dispelled any rumours of permanent closure however, going on to say that, “The party is never over” and that they’ve, “engraved solutions for the continuation of club space as a cultural centre in the heart of Downtown Miami.”

The news of Club Space’s temporary closure came alongside the announcement of two marathon weekend closing parties for the venue, set to be held on the weekend of May 23-26, and May 30-June 2.

The closure of the venue comes just before its 25th anniversary and is required due to the building of two 65-story towers on the East and West sides of the club, as part of the new luxury apartment complex known as E11EVEN Hotel and Residences.

Co-owner Coloma Kaboomsky has said that they want to “preserve the aesthetics and the feel” of the club and that the changes aren’t due to appearance or cosmetic reasons, but to comply with health and safety parameters with modifications expected to the stairwells and fire exits.
