After seven years of running one of Berlin's most lauded party series, Grounded Theory, Henning Baer is ready to enter a new musical realm with his gritty techno. Grounded Theory has hosted artists like Rødhåd, Adam X, Ron Morelli, Truncate and Surgeon and continues to book the best that techno has to offer.

The Berlin-based artist is also well-versed when it comes to releasing hard-hitting techno; he's dropped records via Sonic Groove, Krill Music, nwhite and Tanstaafl Planets and now he's finally setting up his own label.

MANHIGH will act as an outlet for his unique strain of industrial electronic music and the first release will feature five original tracks and a cutthroat remix from Blawan.

Talking to Mixmag exclusively about the new label, Henning says:

"For me, I see the label as another big step even more into independency after successfully running Grounded Theory for more than 7 years. My intention is to continuously seek the edge of modernity, an objective that I hope to reflect in each release which will focus on my own productions and both undiscovered and established artists I believe in.

For me the visual identity of the label is a homage to the collage style of John Hearfield, a German satirist, whom I admire. The imperfection within the perfection of the craft plays a big role in the mission of MANHIGH."

We've got the premiere of Blawan's remix of 'PAN2945' and it's a dense, murky cut that vibrates with menace and scratches like a sharp claw against metal. It's industrial and alien but it perfectly showcases the off-kilter techno that Henning Baer is striving to showcase via MANHIGH. Excellent.

Henning Baer's 'Fighting The Dogs' EP will be released on April 18 via his new MANHIGH imprint.
