Former Trouw staff set to open new club De School

The club will be situated in a disused school building in Western Amsterdam

Plans for a new club from former staff members of Amsterdam's celebrated Trouw (RIP) look closer to fruition.

Rumours credited to Trouw "insiders" surfaced in May that the club was set to re-open at a new site in the west side of the Dutch capital.

Now an official statement from the Amsterdam municipality has arrived with further details. The report reveals that the mayor of Amsterdam has given a positive recommendation to the General Affairs Commision of city Council for the plans.

A license is still yet to be obtained, but the organisers are planning to officially open at the start of December.

The approximately 500-capacity club will operate under the name De School, and will be hosted in the old bicycle storage area of the disused former Iedersland school building.

Like its predecessor, De School will be a temporary establishment, opening for no longer than five years.
