Seth Troxler picks 10 tracks that take him back to being a teen

Teenage kicks are hard to beat

Back in the late 90s, my friends and I would go to this teen club in my hometown Kalamazoo called the Club Nouveau. Looking back now, the whole concept was completely out of order. The club would be open every Friday and Saturday nights for 12-18 year olds and would stay open until midnight. Our parents would drop us off with the standard 'don't get in trouble' attitude, when in reality that was all we were looking for. Because we were so young, drinks were impossible to get so the cool alternative was to smoke blunts and these cigars called Black & Milds. As I enter an age where parenthood is common, the idea of a club being full of underage kids smoking, making out and booty dancing is shocking. In any event, those experiences became my training ground for going to real parties. Here are some tracks my teenage self was listening to while getting boners and trying to talk girls into letting me put my hand down their pants.

Next ‘Too Close’

This track says everything when you're 13 and a warm breeze could give you an erection.

DMX ‘Ruff Ryders’ Anthem’

It got me hyped!

Sisqo ‘The Thong Song’

Our breakout song.

Montell Jordan ‘This Is How We Do It’

Reminds me of my friend's brother Emmit.
