​Electronic music academy launched for aspiring artists in Tbilisi

TES, a nightclub based in Tbilisi, Georgia, has launched a brand new electronic music academy for aspiring artists, Sync Music Academy.

The academy will operate out of the nightclub in the centre of the city, and is set to provide classes on DJing, production, modular composition, live performance and post-production, Resident Advisor reports.

The first classes in DJing are open for registration now, which teaches the structure of the beat, mixing with CDJs, working with Rekordbox, recording sets, and more.

“The course will allow you to master the DJ art techniques, gain information on them, have access to a variety of equipment and learn how to work with them before completion of the course,” reads a post from TES club.

Classes will be led by local artists including Bekuchi, GENERALI MINERALI, and Ika, over the course of two months at the Tbilisi club. Courses take place two times a week and can host up to two pupils at once.

An open-entry workshop in algorithmic electronic music and producing with live coding is set to take place today, April 4, at the club for an entry fee of 10 Gel (£2.95). The class will be led by German artist Pondskater, who will also perform live.

Speaking to Resident Advisor, a Sync Music Academy spokesperson said that further courses in “lighting, VJing and label management” will be available soon. “We're trying to develop the industry in the right direction," they said.
