To celebrate the first decade of their legacy, Eskimo Recordings has pulled together almost 70 tracks across five CDs. Aeroplane’s ‘Caramellas’, Lindstrøm & Prins Thomas’ ‘Boney M Down’ and Morgan Geist’s remix of Hot Toddy’s ‘I Need Love’ all feature on two discs dedicated to the anthems. Meanwhile, integral in the label’s formative years, The Glimmers each provide a DJ mix, the package also containing a selection of lesser-known remixes from the likes of Harvey, Deetron and Solomun. A plentiful offering, but if you take Eskimo’s era-defining compilations out of the equation, it does highlight the fact that the label hasn’t actually released that much outstanding output.
