Toddla T has always placed himself at the center of a cabal of artists, joining ranks with Roska, Serocee, Roots Manuva, Lady Chann and Shola Ama to make sure his brazen brand of Sheffield-meets-Jamaica bass music is as boisterous as possible. He’s keeping it in the family with this latest release, which is a full rework of his most recent album ‘Watch Me Dance’. Toddla’s handed the reins to two close cohorts: old friend and Steel City bassboy Pipes and long-time production associate Ross Orton. They’ve reworked the stash of tracks into a rough, tough and totally fun smorgasbord of dancehall, digi-dub, UK funky and carnival house, doing a good job of revamping the original, and even bettering it in places.
