Since 2006 James Ford and Jas Shaw have constantly innovated, and their sound has clearly evolved since their beginnings. Their new live album was recorded in Philadelphia in one take and features no post-production at all. Once you delve in you’re taken on a guided tour through the duo’s illustrious back catalogue in a quite majestic way. ‘Your Love/Run Theme’ thrusts you into the techno voyage and ‘Unfixed’ throws synth stabs at you so sporadically you’ll be looking round to see where they’ve come from. Later on in the set the mix between ‘Seraphim’ and ‘Cruel Intentions’ is good enough to have you on your knees crying for mercy. Imagine Simian Mobile Disco, but better.
