This is a really, really beautifully produced album. Richard Bultitude, aka Point B, takes the wide open spaces of deeper dubstep and spooky global music samples and builds structures around them in a variety of tempos and moods, everything sparkling and sharp-
edged as if seen through the most high tech of observational tools. 2-step (‘Fossils’, ‘Versus’), grinding trip-hop (‘Jetsam Collector’), d’n’b (‘The Closure’) and moody half-stepping (the title track) are bound together into a consistent whole by sheer technical brilliance. Sometimes it can sound too clinical, and it’s not exactly party-starting stuff, but its sparkling dreamworld is well worth a visit.
