Right now, if you can muster the correct amalgam of compression-heavy dubstep tics, euphoric melody and overblown vocals, it’s a goldmine out there. World- class turntablists Beni G and Plus One, with their heavy-hitting remixes (Skream, Beyoncé, etc) and floor-storming singles, are well placed to clean up, and are putting out a series of mini-albums of which this the first. They gun for a homogenous 2012 chart sound, especially on ‘Fast Girls’ and ‘War’, the latter featuring Example and Diplo, but are fortunately so ravey – in a candied way – that they’re hard to resist. As if to prove their point, there’s even a mad wob-wob remix of king of the mopers, Leonard Cohen.
