Ital Tek’s last album was released two years ago, but the Brighton producer has been so quiet ever since that it feels like way longer. If you’re familiar with 2010’s ‘Midnight Colour’ then you’ll understand; it’s a sumptuous example of emotive electronic hip hop that leaves you wanting more. Thankfully he’s delivered ‘Nebula Dance’, a sterling voyage into future-bound footwork that is a fantastic progression in terms of style and production. As the title suggests it’s a space-age affair, the soundtrack to moon buggy escapades similar to other Planet Mu pioneers such as Kuedo and Young Smoke. Rhythms skate around at speed while endless layers of synthetic melody dance around one another. The whole thing feels vast, a lunar soundscape ripe for exploration.
