Allow the fact that Bergen’s Casiokids sing in their native Norwegian to put you off buying this record and you’ll be missing out on a brilliant, breathlessly exciting, sunshine-dappled album of melodic, electronic alt-pop. As endlessly colourful as the buildings that populate their home town – musical birthplace of Röyksopp and Annie – the foursome’s third album ought to see them seated at the same cool, dance-pop table as Hot Chip. Casiokids’ contemplative afropop (‘Selskapets Triste Avslutning’), stomping glam synthery (‘Det Haster!’) and jaunty electro shanties (‘Golden Years’) will charm the pants off of you, whatever language you speak.
