It’s surprising that dubstep albums this perfectly engineered for afterparty or headphone listening haven’t come around more often. Tectonic boss Pinch’s ‘Haunted Dancehall’ was one overlooked classic, and now the label has delivered another beauty of a record thanks to a collaboration between Leeds-based producers J Sparrow and Ruckspin. The result is as slick as could be, full of jazzy chords and loops, soulful vocals, smooth surfaces and bass so warm and inviting you’ll want to pour Radox into it. Thankfully, though, the rhythmic invention and open spaces that dubstep allows save it from any kind of washed-out chillout orthodoxy. Shmoooooove!
