Here's evidence that it pays to enter competitions. Remember the Olmeca Be The DJ competition?
A track entered by an unsigned DJ called El Phonix impressed Steve Aoki so much that it has been selected as an official remix for his next single, 'Come With Me', out today, February 19.
The South African newcomer is one of 12 up-and-coming DJs attending this week's Olmeca Be The DJ masterclass in Amsterdam, giving them the chance to showcase their skills. The most promising DJ will be invited to open for Aoki at a gig this summer and have the chance to become Mixmag's own summer resident in Ibiza this year.
