Daft Punk have taken the ‘net by storm yet again after rumours emerged recently about a new single possibly being released in July.
French electronic dance mag Tsugi mentioned ‘Renoma Street’ this month, a Daft Punk track that is yet to materialise. When asked about it on Twitter, editor Patrice Bardot responded
with “21\7”, leading to speculation that the electronic duo could be back on the scene next month.
Just as the rumour machine was about to go into overdrive, Pitchfork shut it down, saying, without quoting their sources, that no new tunes were imminent.
The hype first kicked off in February when Nile Rodgers revealed that he was working with the secretive pair on their fourth album, which is still without official confirmation.
It’s all a bit “hurry up and wait” as the web clings onto any suggestion and speculation, and Daft Punk maintain their silence.
