American DJ/producer Machinedrum has announced via Twitter that he has signed with London-based imprint Ninja Tune.
Machinedrum, real name Travis Stewart, took to the social networking site to say: "So excited about signing with @ninjatunehq !!!!".
Stewart has signed a four-album deal, with the first LP said to be scheduled for as early as June this year.
In an article on Billboard, Ninja Tune label boss Peter Quirke said on the signing:
"He fits in particularly well because he's an experimental electronic artist and that's one of our key principles...Not just that, he's unmistakably precise and prolific – just a brilliant producer. I think we'll see him producing records for all sorts of people, not just for us but for big stars and pop artists."
The news was announced at the Ninja Tune SXSW showcase this week, and now the wait begins for the appearance of the album.
