Kaskade has written a lengthy blog in defence of EDM.
The big room superstar hits out at bandwagon jumping journalists before noting that what he calls EDM has been around for decades and isn't just a passing phase, as some critics in America might think.
He wrote: "EDM can no longer be dismissed because this slow building beast has borne some of the most creatively savvy and long-lasting players in the musical industry."
"From where I sit, there is no end in sight for opportunities to grow. EDM cut it’s teeth on the 70’s, 80’s, 90’s, and turned the millennium with the rest of the musical world. It’s not the Synthpop, Breakbeat, Techno, House, D’n’B, Jungle, Acid or Intelligent Dance Music of the past. It’s the continuing of the legacy that has been decades in the making," he continued.
He's adding further to the EDM tidal wave by bringing a new album out in the Spring of 2013.
He recently told Billboard: "I'm hoping to have it out early next year - by March or April if I can stick to my deadlines and get it finished by the end of the year."
