A huge forest fire has broken out in Ibiza, causing up to 1,200 people to flee from their homes and holiday villas.
An official said the fire on the east of the island broke out last night and was still burning this morning. He added that it was not yet under control but is advancing more slowly.
No one has been hurt. Some 150 firefighters and nine water-dumping planes or helicopters are battling the blaze.
The question of how the fire began is still unknown.
