HMV's Twitter account appears to have been hijacked by disgruntled employees.
The now deleted tweets talk about the firing of employees because of the company's financial state.
The tweets, followed by the hashtag #hmvXFactorFiring is now the top trending comment in the UK.
One tweet read: "We're tweeting live from HR where we're all being fired! Exciting!! #hmvXFactorFiring"

At the time of writing, tweets are still forthcoming, including one circulating claiming that a marketing director at the company had been overheard asking how to shut down Twitter. This comes just a day after a potential investment from Dragons' Den's Theo Paphitis.
