Cult rapper DOOM sent an impersonator to play a DJ set in London on his behalf on Saturday night, August 25.
DOOM was scheduled to play a show for Livin' Proof but his stunt double turned up instead.
The US hip hop artist is somewhat renowned for not playing his own gigs and has even alluded to doing it deliberately in past interviews.
According to a statement posted on Livin' Proof's Facebook page, DOOM was confirmed to play a DJ set but on the night the promoter was told he'd only be signing autographs unless they stumped up more cash. Livin' Proof duly decided that the show should go on and paid the extra fee but apparently it was an impostor who stepped into the booth and not DOOM.
Although DOOM is known to send in stunt doubles, he's always kept things quite ambiguous. However this seems like he's been caught redhanded for both not playing and holding a promoter to ransom. Not cool.
