DAVID GUETTA: "I TOOK DAFT PUNK TO IBIZA FOR THE FIRST TIME"

In an interview for Mixmag Global, French chart-topper David Guetta gave an insight into his friendship with Daft Punk.

When asked if he had heard the new Daft Punk album, he replied: "Don't tease me! No I haven't. But I am a massive fan and can't wait to hear it."

Back when the musical robots were under the radar, Guetta took them out to Ibiza for the first time and promoted them the best way he could.

"I took them to Ibiza for the first time when they were unknown but their music wasn't; Cathy and I worked the beaches with a ghettoblaster playing their records. We packed out Privilege that night."

It turns out that if it wasn't for a little help from Thomas Bangalter then Guetta may not have experienced the success he has today: "I owe a lot to Thomas who took my first record to Virgin and got me signed."
