One of the most frequent things we see in dance music when it comes to the realm of social media is a serious amount of beefing. We can barely go a day without seeing the biggest and most successful DJs drop a few pars and disses on Twitter.
Yesterday however, instead of getting heated with one another, dance music's elite united in uproar against one act who took centre stage on the most recent episode of American Idol.
Fresh off the back of their internet smash 'Selfie', The Chainsmokers appeared on American Idol and performed a rendition of the track that's now topped the 100 Million plays mark.
But by rendition we mean they pressed play on a CDJ and danced around the audience taking pictures with over-excited fangirls and a particularly ecstatic J-Lo, who manages to look smoking hot even while dancing to the EDM juggernaut.
Needless to say a lot of DJs weren't happy with the shameless promotion that took place so we've compiled some of the most cutting tweets that got posted out to the world. Oh and check out the video below once you've stopped taking selfies of yourselves doing so.
The only thing @TheChainsmokers and pop EDM have in common is probably cancer.

if you only care about "making it", if you take every shitty commerical opportunity, this is what you end up doing: https://t.co/o0rzb5OutD
