Earlier in the week we reported that Chic's Nile Rodgers had hinted that he was likely to work with Daft Punk this week.
Now it appears that the collaboration went ahead with a picture of Rodgers and Daft Punk (from the neck down) appearing on Nile's blog.
According to Niles blog, Planet C, the hook up took place this Monday (February 6) at his New York apartment.
Nile said on his blog, "Things went so well we didn't want the day to end but I had to do a string of interviews for my upcoming Chic gigs in Australia. After doing my interviews I listened to my favorite Daft Punk records."
Although Niles commented in an interview that the meet up was initially an "informal jam session", it seems that things went so well there's already plans to for the three to work on a full album together.
Rodgers went on to say, "We were having so much fun just in an informal setting that we decided to make it formal. And it’s very formal. It’s gonna be amazing."
He added, "Every track they played I just ran across the room and got my guitar and started playing and we were all dancing around my dining room having the time of our lives. It was something that was meant to be."
So the original disco pioneer is working with the kings of French filter disco and house. Get excited now!
