CRYPTIC COACHELLA MESSAGE HINTS AT ANNOUNCEMENT

Organisers of Coachella, Goldenvoice, have left a cryptic message on the Californian festival's website, hinting that news about its future may be revealed very soon.

The message is simply: "Tuesday 6pm PDT" (1am Wednesday UK time), and has led to speculation that an announcement will be made soon.

Coachella's future came under threat earlier this month when the City of Indio, the weekend's home since 1999, proposed a 5-10% increase in admissions tax. The proposal has since been dropped but it isn't certain if the festival will stay in Indio. Earlier this year Goldenvoice bought 280 acres of land around the current location which could mean that Coachella will stay put. However, their contract with the city expires next year which may lead to the weekend relocating.
