In a new interview with Mixmag, Boys Noize has revealed that he's using his American tour to introduce EDM kids to a more experimental side of dance music.
He's currently embarking on a long list of dates across the country and is unveiling his new live set-up at all the shows. He's contributing to the dance music explosion across the pond but when asked about his feelings towards EDM, the DJ and producer expressed that he isn't really interested by it.
"Electronic music is always about the sound so the mainstream music which everyone is calling EDM is still very much like pop music. It is what pop music is now and it's what’s on the radio so for me it’s not that interesting," he said.
He also spoke about how American fans view electronic music and his mission to educate and inspire the new generation of ravers: "It’s cool because there’s a lot of young people who have just discovered dance music probably through more mainstream ways and for me it is a good challenge to show those people a bit more depth to electronic music."
Just like Hawtin and Dice, Boy Noize is intent on teaching EDM kids a lesson.
