Alex Ridha, better known as Boys Noize, has labelled the development of electronic music, or EDM, over the last two years as too generic.
In an interview with Rolling Stone magazine, he revealed he would rather push his audience than conform to what is played on radio day to day.
"I always love to play jacking stuff and harder stuff," he said. "Right now, like in the last two years, a lot of the electronic music, or what you call now EDM, it feels too generic for me sometimes and a bit soulless."
Boys Noize has reportedly persisted with his own sound on his forthcoming album 'Out Of The Black' having received support from friend and one half of Justice, Xavier De Rosnay.
"I guess what he wanted to say was, 'You got a sound, and it's good.'"
'Out Of The Black' is set for release on October 1 on Boysnoize Records.
