AFROJACK AND DEADMAU5 ARGUE OVER WHAT'S 'GOOD MUSIC'

Afrojack has hit back at Deadmau5 following the Canadian DJ's criticism of his production skills.

In an apparent piss-take of Deadmau5, Afrojack yesterday put new track 'something_' on Soundcloud, which sounds like a sub-par imitation of the Canadian DJ's signature musical style.

The track is an assumed response to last week's conversation between the two.

Zimmerman last week bashed Afrojack on a Beatport thread for comments the Dutch DJ made at the EDMbiz conference in Las Vegas in June.

Responding to the question, "Is there a dance music bubble?" Afrojack said: “If you make good music, you succeed; if you don’t, you won’t.”

Zimmerman wrote: "Is it 'good'? What do you mean good? Good as in sounds like every fuckin other *edm* track out there good?

"I don't want to live on this planet anymore."

The tiff moved to Twitter yesterday, though most tweets by both DJs have since been removed. Afrojack wrote: "Good as in you like it, you're happy. Stop with the f*cking crying already and if u really want out I'm not stopping you."

Deadmau5 also tweeted: "100% of people, expect to hear new things, ever evolving sounds and compositions, new genres, originality. F*ck your Mcdonalds."

So far, there is no sign of an Afrojack-style Soundcloud rebuttal by Deadmau5, although yesterday he posted new material from his work in the studio.

Have a listen to Afrojack's 'something_' below.
