Head of Production MixmagTV / Disco Editor / (formerly Senior Writer)
"Oh look! I'm trying to put a vinyl into a CDJ! Am I not aware that it won't fit? Or am I making a commentary on the difficulty of integrating analogue into a digital world? I hope it's not the latter. That would make me a twat."
Likes: Small intimate parties, clubbing in a bedroom, Naked Music, Danny Krivit, Lost in Translation, Underground Resistance, Calvin & Hobbes, The Last Donut Of The Night, Asterix, Villalobos, dogs, Stewart Lee, beaches, Mitch Hedberg, classic house, Doug Stanhope, clouds, kitsch disco, good pop, Shlohmo, Submerse, Drive, Dumb & Dumber, Brian Eno and blah blah (all the ones that you're suppose to like and are actually worth liking) and science, especially the sort that proves that we're not actually here, 'Get Him To The Greek' (when you're in the 'industry' it's much funnier) and old school DJs that worked their way up from a residency based solely on their ability to move a dancefloor.
Dislikes: The fact that lots of producers aren't good DJs. Can really ruin a night out.
Digby's Mixmag career kicked off around three years ago when he started mixing and presenting the Mixmag podcast. Gradually, he was asked to do various freelance writing work, including a thirty hour stint in Fabric for their tenth birthday. Moving to London two years ago, he is now full time at the magazine. He writes features and reviews tracks for the disco page, having been a fan of the genre since he was introduced to it back in '99. After grafting his bollocks off he was given the role of Senior Writer which sounds very important and gave Mummy something to tell the neighbours. He is now responsible for the smooth running of MixmagTV. Say hello @DigbyMixmag. Though don't expect a reply. He's not a tweeter. (I know this as it's actually me writing this crap about myself).
