About Me

Mixmag Assistant Editor: 1999 was a big year for me. Not only did I wave goodbye to sleepy Sussex to take on the bright lights of London Town, it was also the first year that I was sent to Ibiza. For six glorious weeks. And all in the name of work! Needless to say, after a summer on the island - meeting Daft Punk, The Manumission Girls and Armand Van Helden along the way - I was hooked.

After four weeks writing and reporting on all this for a Muzik/Loaded publication called The Islander, I got a job at Muzik magazine where I worked for four years as Staff Writer and then Assistant Editor. Several star-studded Muzik Awards ceremonies later, the magazine sadly folded when the market slumped. Having sensed my ability to create killer cover CDs, Mixmag offered me a job in 2003 - and a brand new ninja role as Senior Music Editor was born. Overseeing all our music reviews and working on every Mixmag covermount since July 03, I often wonder where work ends and life begins. Last year I went to New York, Shanghai, Singapore, Miami, Ibiza and Sonar and 2008 has already seen me return to NYC to interview Francois K and visit what was once (sob) The Paradise Garage. I'm now Assistant Editor again and am counting down the days to WMC and Ibiza all over again....
