OTONE AUDIO STILO 2.1 PRO

Otone Audio is a new entrant into the desktop speaker department, positioning itself as an affordable yet high quality alternative to market leaders like Altec Lansing and Logitech.

Their flagship product is the Stilo 2.1 Pro, a powerful subwoofer and twin-speaker combo that clocks in at a very reasonable £89.99. It’s designed with your living room in mind and is perfect for a film night or Xbox session.

But, dear Mixmag reader, what we really want to know is how the Stilo 2.1 Pro stands up during a pre-club session or early morning afterparty. We ran a wide range of sounds through the system, from the weightiest dubstep through to the deepest house, and can report that the results are positive.

The Stilo 2.1 Pro delivers a beautifully rounded and brilliantly warm bass sound, thanks to its five and a quarter inch subwoofer. Sounds on the higher end of the scale cut through perfectly thanks to the two inch drivers inside the twin speakers which ensure a crystal clarity.

It also reaches a high volume without ever stretching itself or becoming distorted, meaning a living room can easily be filled with punchy sound when your favourite rug becomes a spontaneous dancefloor area. And it’s subtle too, with a clean black finish and smooth, distinct design.

Otone Audio have come good with a reasonably priced desktop speaker solution that works for a range of situations. It's small enough to use with your laptop when casually checking out tunes online or organising your iTunes. But it's also loud and well defined, meaning films, gaming sessions and small parties receive the best sound possible. Don't be fooled by the cute photo, the Stilo 2.1 Pro offers big results.
