AUDIO TECHNICA M50

In a world of unique design touches, chrome and other extravagant features, these £130 Audio Technica M50's seem to fall to the bottom of the pile.

However, they are probably one of the best headphones on sale for monitoring. Despite their uninspiring appearance, these headphones are built to last rather than to be displayed. Large engineered hinges and thick plastic dominate the design, giving piece of mind rather than stunningly good looks.

Where these headphones truly come to the fore is in absolute sound quality. Simply put, these offer one the most transparent responses in the headphone market. What this essentially means is that unlike other headphones that add bass or treble, these offer an astoundingly accurate representation of any piece of music. This makes them ideal for producers who need to hear their work and its frequencies unaltered, but also great for those who simply like music.

As well as their transparent quality, they are also able to represent a huge range of frequencies, meaning the deepest sub bass and highest treble is presented in all its glory.

One of the best buys in the headphone market at the moment, these M50's are ideal for producers and music lovers alike, and for only £130 they represent a great deal.
