After years with no sign of an update, Apple has finally taken the wraps off Logic Pro X, the latest edition of its flagship DAW.
A hugely anticipated update for producers and beatmakers everywhere, Apple’s new production software provides a much needed update to the application, packing in a host of new features to bring it up to speed with Ableton and Cubase.
One of the most exciting features is Logic Remote. Allowing users to transform their iPad into a keyboard, drum pad, or mixing board, Logic Remote brings the intuitive element of touch to the tried and tested Logic formula.
Building on the stability and familiar face of its long in the tooth predecessor, Logic also adds Drummer, Track Stack and Flex Pitch.
New for Logic X, Drummer provides a virtual session player that automatically plays along side your tracks, whilst Flex Pitch provides integrated pitch editing for audio recordings, streamlining things even further. In addition, Track Stack and features like Arpeggiator help to enhance the creative experience, with the latter constructing pitch perfect arpeggios from a single chord.
Logic Pro X is available today from the Mac App Store for £139. Logic Remote is available today as a free download from the App Store.
