The court has ruled in favor of Ultra Music Festival following a lawsuit by Alex Omes, the festival’s co-founder who passed away last year.

The suit was made as an attempt to legally regain control of Ultra Festival after Omes claimed he was forced out. Ultra countersued, sighting that Omes was self-dealing and harmful to the reputation of the festival. A day prior to the case being set to trial Omes was found dead in his condo without a clear cause of death.

Due to evidence of self-dealing and working with direct rivals of Ultra, the court motioned in favour of the festival. In spite of this, Omes’ estate has made a statement that they would move forward with an appeal.

On its court success, Ultra stated: "Ultra Enterprises Inc. is extremely pleased with the outcome of [the] trial held in November and hopes that the parties may now resolve what is left of the matter amicably and without further expenditure of the resources of the court or the parties."
