Glistening club track with a subtle toughness

Sylvere's entry into Trax Couture's 'World Series' is a four-track collection of intense, pulsating beats perfect for sweat-soaked basements. The type of tunes that would go down a treat at London crew Bala Club's parties.

There was no messing from the off on that one: lead track 'Alarm System' packed with searing bleeps and smashed glass. Each of the tracks swell with an aggressive nature and just in case you were wondering what kind of mood the French producer wanted to convey, last track 'Sanctuary' is so vexed, it's as if you've done something to really rile it.

Shows on Rinse France and an EP on Tobago Tracks followed the EP, with his new one coming out on London club slayer Akito's Sans Absence label. Although there's still a fair bit of vigour pumping through the three-track 'Smashing Stars' EP, it's nowhere near as physically abusive as his 'World Series' input.

In fact, the title track, our exclusive, glistens delicately, with trance-like synths prancing around and a squeaky vocal making itself known throughout. The thumping kicks and occasional horn blows give it that meaty feel, though, so don't go thinking he's totally got rid of that agg-fuelled nature of his.
