The Lab ADE Special: Steve Rachmad presents Parallel 9, Boris Werner & San Proper

The Lab is Mixmag and Smirnoff Sound Collective's weekly post-work party/live stream where we showcase the best DJs from our offices in London, Los Angeles and New York.

With Amsterdam Dance Event fast approaching we've decided to put together a very special Lab ADE with three of the most talented, credible and exciting DJs and producers that the Netherlands has to offer: Steve Rachmad, Boris Werner and San Proper.

Although a native Dutchman, Steve Rachmad is widely considered as someone who's pushed Detroit techno. Under aliases like Parallel 9 (under which he will perform at The Lab), Ignacio and Sterac, he's created a warm, soulful and melodic style that's influenced by his love of disco and electro. This knowlege was shown this year at Dekmantel Festival where Steve played a rare 80s electro and boogie set under his Sterac Electronics banner. From Berghain to Fabric, Trouw to Time Warp, his DJ sets are always the highlight, simply because he's one of the most instinctive and talented DJs out there.

Boris Werner has been a pivotal figure in Amsterdam's music scene since his residency back in 2005 at Vreemd, the legendary weekday party at Amsterdam's Sugar Factory. Since then he's released on labels like Remote Area, Supplement Facts, Rush Hour, Moon Harbour, Soweso and Get Physical. He's held a residency at the world famous club Trouw, where his Late Night Society parties invited the likes of Mr G and Tom Trago as well as fellow DC:10 residents Jamie Jones and Seth Troxler. As a DJ he blends all strains of house and has a flawless reputation of dropping charismatic sets.

An Amsterdam local, San Proper has a close relationship with the clubs, labels and record stores that are backbone of the city's underground scene. His first five releases came out on the Rush Hour label and residencies at Trow and Dekmantel cemented his place as a major player. San Proper has also remixed Ricardo Villalobos, which led to him having several releases on the iconic Perlon label. He'll be DJing in The Lab, but also puts together a mean live show playing live instruments alongside his hard- ware and digital gear.

The event will be held in Room 2 of the legendary Studio 80 club, from 6pm until 9pm. If you're in Amsterdam and want to come just email [email protected] with the subject ADE.

Steve Rachmad plays six shows during ADE including Circo Loco and HYTE with Ricardo Villalobos. Check them all here. The Sterac remix of Yotam Avni's 'This Is How' is out now here. He also has an EP coming up on Drumcode and a remix of DJ Wild forthcoming on Roush

San Proper has a 6-track EP forthcoming on Amsterdam's Dopeness Galore and a remix of Sekitova on Japan's Bass Works recordings. You can catch Boris Werner at 3 parties over the course of ADE this year including: Circoloco, HYTE with Loco Dice and the Voyage Direct showcase where he'll be playing alongside Steve Rachmad and loads more
