Premiere: Ivy Lab lash out another scything halftime cut

What a decision it was by Ivy Lab to focus on twisted, halftime drum 'n' bass cuts.

This year and last have been Sabre, Stray and Halogenix's best yet as they fully dived into their 20/20 project, securing a residency at London club Phonox, releasing their debut album '20/20 Volume One' and the sleek 'Fortuna' EP and playing shows in Australia, Canada, the US and Europe.

Since dropping off from making free-flowing liquid tracks like 'Make It Clear' and 'Live On Your Smile', the trio have knocked out bass-cranking weapons like 'Hiya', 'No Answer' and the beautifully menacing 'Can't Say No' with Roses Gabor on vocals.

Phonox were obviously so impressed by their midweek 20/20 party, they've given them a Friday residency from November 25, with Dub Phizix & Strategy, JD Reid, Deft, Jon1st, Itoa and Tim Parker all laying it down that night.

The same day sees them release '20/20 LDN Vol. 2', a venomous various artists compilation featuring Fracture, Havelock, Deft, Phazz and more.

'Ghee Butter' is one of four solo productions from Ivy Lab on the comp. They can be like Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde in the way their tracks could either be slick and polished or saw-toothed and nasty and this one has them in full-on Mr Hyde get-up. Hear this in the rave and the raw, rough ride of a bassline will send you nuts.
