MTV commissions Ibiza Shore

Oh god no

When news broke that Simon Cowell's DJ-focused TV show was confirmed and set to be a reality, the dance music world collectively groaned.

What else can the TV world do to drag down electronic music? Nothing as bad as that surely?! Well, think again as MTV has dealt another severe blow to us all.

The TV giant has commissioned Ibiza Shore, a spin-off of the highly-popular, insantly-repulsive series that has plagued the world for the last 6 years or so.

This new version will feature characters – sorry, real people – from spin-off shows like Spain's Gandia Shore and Mexico's Acapulco Shore, not to menton "additional surprise arrivals from Italy and Brazil," according to MTV International.

America kicked things off by giving us Jersey Shore, which birthed Pauly D, the ridiculously muscly DJ who was reportedly earning up to $40,000 per show. His skills seen below.

Here in the UK we've been blessed with Geordie Shore which follows a similar premise to Jersey Shore, except it's guys and girls from Newcastle who can be seen projectile vomiting and urinating in public, almost on a weekly basis.

Tiago Worcman, senior VP of music brands for VIMN Americas said: "Everyone knows Ibiza is one of the party capitals of the world, so we can't wait to see what happens with this unique mix of characters, personalities and cultures."

So if you want to watch a bunch of wildlings in a house on the White Isle, see them plyed with alcohol before running rampant around the streets of San Antonio, this is for you.

For the rest of us, however, may the rave god have mercy on us all.
