Ministry of Sound are set to host the official Larry Levan Birthday Bash on July 19 to celebrate the iconic Paradise Garage DJ's life, legacy and music.

It will be the first time the official birthday tribute has come to London. Levan himself had close connections with Ministry of Sound, playing and producing music there and even helping tune the club's sound system before his death in 1992.

The Birthday Bash will feature resident Garage DJ's David DePino and Joey Llanos, dance music pioneer François K and an exclusive daytime set from The 2 Bears. In the evening, Ministry of Sound's co-founder Justin Berkmann, M&S's Ricky Morrison and house heroes Heller & Farley will spin.

The event will support the charity GMHC, which was developed in the midst of the AIDS crisis in New York. It is the leading provider of HIV/AIDS prevention, care and advocacy.
