Since the early 90s, Dutch powerhouse Clone has absolutely dominated with EPs from the best in the business. Rugged techno, fiery house and intricate electronica with a side of spank is the aim of the game and one of the sub-divisions, Clone Basement Series, is always gnarly as fuck.

Literon, Blawan, Alden Tyrell and Untold have all released via the sister label alongside Mike Dehnert, who's dropped three EPs of his own. The techno kingpin is now ready to unleash his fourth offering and we knew what to expect as soon as we clicked play.

Fachwerk owner Dehnert is no stranger to warzone techno as he's crafted some of the best and heaviest tracks around. He's amassed thousands of plays on YouTube on all his tracks and his 'Lichtbedingt' album on Delsin was a masterclass in song structure and production.

The 'Echo 8' EP is loaded with four heavy-artillery cuts, all of which throw caution to the wind and bite hard. It's fierce, it's thunderous and most of all, it's quintessential Dehnert. We're giving you the first spin of the title-track and you'd better prepare for the fire.

Metallic, jangling synths throw their weight around from the first beat and continue to do so with the backing of a heavy kick throughout. Cosmic synths back up the main riff midway through but it's pretty much no-holds barred from start to finish. Arm yourself with this one and reap the rewards on the dancefloor.

The 'Echo 8' EP will be released on February 23 via Clone Basement Series
