2016 has already been a defining year for Lane 8.

The top of the year saw Daniel Goldstein's 'Midnight' EP out on Suara, setting a top-tier standard for the forthcoming months ahead. Riding forward with that momentum, Lane 8 introduced 'This Never Happened', a event series that aims to retain the mystique of the dance floor with a sans-phone and photos rule. In addition, the California-native has also launched his own label imprint of the same name, and today, he's handed us his follow pu to 'Fingerprint', the second release off This Never Happened, the label.

'Crush' arrives as yet another testament to the resounding touch of emotion that Lane 8 brings to each and every one of his productions. But the finesse of his latest output is in the details; minute deviations push 'Crush' into the rare realm that balances comfortability in Lane 8's signature sound with the allure of the unexpected.

"'Crush' took quite awhile to finish, as the main arpeggiating melody has a lot of little variations and switches," Lane 8 explains. "I always try to focus on to keep the music interesting and engaging. ['Crush' is] 100% in line with what the label is about - those transcendent, dark, beautiful dance floor moments where everyone can just close their eyes and forget everything for a few hours."

'Crush' will arrive as one half of a two-sided 'Crush / Divina' EP that is out on August 1.
