KEF Muo

Let's be honest, there are more portable speakers available to buy now than ever before and picking your ideal match can be hard work. You want something that's going to look good but deliver great sound quality and at a price that doesn't break the bank. But if you're in the market for something a bit pricier but still great value for money, then KEF may have delivered the winning product.

The KEF Muo comes in at £299 and while that may seem like a lot for a bluetooth speaker, it's got a whole lot of power packed into it's small, sleek casing. Designed by Ross Lovegrove, it's one of the nicer looking products on the market, with a glorious aluminium shell that comes in range of bright, stark colours. It's got rubber grips on the bottom to ensure wherever it's placed, you're going to a clear, uninterrupted sound and protection of the metal.

It's easily portable too, you can fit it in your backpack or handbag with ease and the bluetooth aptX functionality means you can connect any device up to it at the click of a button. But just because it's easily moveable, doesn't mean it lacks in sound quality, in fact, it's the opposite.

We powered up our Muo at home in the living room and the sound filled the entire space with crystal clear definition. It's all about the drivers, and the Uni-Q driver technology means that the sound is dispersed evenly and consistently so what you're hearing is both full and defined. To build on this, you can synchronise two sets of speakers to use Stereo mode, which is ideal for parties and if you want an even bigger sound.

While it's more expensive than your average, if you're willing to spend a little extra, what you get is a portable speaker that delivers a warm, powerful sound alongside a slick, focused design. If you're looking for a gift that'll keep music lovers happy then the KEF Muo is where you need to be looking.
