Goldie's got a thing or two to say about 'DJs' stepping up to the decks with pre-recorded mixes.

Interviewed by Channel 4 about the success of drum 'n' bass, along with d'n'b group Rudimental, the Metalheadz boss was questioned about the difference between "authentic" DJs and those turning up to shows with a ready-made set, offering the latter out for a musical session.

"That stuff's not built on anything. They couldn't go through a record collection. They couldn't tell me anything about that. Tell them to go back-to-back with me and let's see what happens then.

"See if those DJs can go back-to-back with proper DJs and roll it out for three or four hours. Send them to a five-hour set and see how their candy arses start sounding then."

Any DJs guilty of waving their arms on stage didn't dodge his verbal bullets, either.

He added: "If you can't believe in the music you're playing, and do you really believe in what you're playing? That's something I have to question.

"I know a lot of people are up there and they're just waving their arms around. 'You know if you put your hands together and go like this, the crowd will follow you.' Really? No shit, Sherlock! I say to myself, 'where the fuck do you really come from?' Some of the people playing this music, I've got to question their credentials."

See what else he and Rudimental had to say below.
