2016 has already taken away several musical icons including David Bowie and Eagles guitarist Glenn Frey. Sadly, yet another musical leader has passed away. This time, Danish composer Else Marie Pade has died at age 91.

Pade was the first person in Denmark to compose music using electronics, making her the very first producer in Denmark back in 1954. As an activist in World War II, she was eventually held in a Danish prison camp, which forced her away from the piano and towards electronic music.

Her compilation 'Electronic Works' was re-released last year and reportedly, Pade had planned to continue making more music at age 89.
