Crep Protect Q&A With J2K

Established in 2012, Crep Protect has very quickly earned its stripes as one of the leading cleaning products for sneakerheads worldwide.

With the recent launch of Crep Protect wipes, which offer a quick and easy alternative to cleaning your trainers, Mixmag caught up with co-owner J2K for a little chat about the brand and his favourite trainers.

How did you make the transition from grime artist to part owner of Crep Protect?
Pretty easy to be honest. I've always been someone to put my ideas into practice and work towards making something of it. It was just a blessing to link with a like minded person like my partner Imran and to be able to achieve what we have done so far. It's all the same principles; work hard, work smart, stay forward thinking and be original in your approach.

Was it your own love for trainers that influenced you to start Crep Protect?
Of course! I've always had a love for trainers, especially when it comes to keeping them as fresh as possible. You can ask anyone and they'll tell you what I'm like. Maintenance is necessary.

How many pairs of trainers do you own yourself?
Loads! I haven't counted but it's out of control, put it that way.

Do you have a favourite pair of trainers that you want to keep fresh forever?
The Adidas ZX 8000 Aqua, but saying that any crispy white shoe I put on for the first time feels as if it should stay that way forever.

If you could have any pair of trainers, which would you choose?
Ideally, there would be a few but the Jordan 4 Undefeated are very dope - I would go for those I think. I was offered a pair not long ago but the price was mental, £20,000!
