Are glitter pits actually a thing?

It's coming into festive season which means soon we can dress like a sparkly Christmas decoration that's collided into disco ball. But never did we predict that we could take this into our armpits.

Leading on from the #freethepits and #hairypitsclub movement this summer, the glitter pit is the latest trend to take off via Instagram.

The aim isn't just to make underarms sparkle, there is a feminist message behind all the razzle dazzle which encourages women to celebrate their body. Even if it doesn't take off down the catwalk, it's certainly a fun way to decorate an area that is commonly disregarded in beauty standards.

Just search #glitterpits to see the trend in its full glittery glory.
