Alan Fitzpatrick is fast becoming the master of thick, brooding techno. His productions always possess a certain weight and his DJ sets are an unrelenting trip through mammoth basslines and prolonged builds and drops.
The Southampton-based selector has been calling Adam Beyer's Drumcode Records home since 2009 and after a seriously good release on Hotflush earlier in the year, and remixes for Leftfield and Roisin Murphy, he returns to Beyer's imprint.
Make way for three more tracks that engulf and pummel with every beat. The 'U Said U' EP is more of the gold standard same from Fitzpatrick and it's time to welcome the premiere of the title-track with open arms and clenched fists.
What this track does really well is to constantly keep the listener guessing. One part is littered with murky bass stabs while the next features sharp and eerie melodies. Wait, then it goes back to dark and brutal, hang on now it's a mixture of both. Ahhhh the kicks are so heavy too. Fuck.
Anyway you'll have to make up your own mind but we're really feeling this. Check it.
