DJ BATTLE: JUSTIN MICHAEL VS SOUTH CENTRAL

Welcome to the next installment of our DJ Battle series. Stepping into the ring this month: from the USA, big room house expert Justin Michael and UK noisy electro duo South Central. Listen to and download the battle below. Justin's mix comes first followed by South Central's.

About South Central:

They've supported the Prodigy, Pendulum, Vitalic, Rage Against The Machine on tour. They've had collaborations with Gary Numan and A Place To Bury Strangers. They've played triumphant shows at Electric Brixton and Paris’s Moulin Rouge. And they're gaining critical acclaim from Radio 1 and us here at Mixmag. If noisy big room electro is your thing, then these are the duo to provide it.
South Central have taken the French electro elements of their recent past, added more noise, more stabs, more noise, and the kind of bass that would trouble even the most hardcore brostep acolyte. Their debut album, 'Demons' was released on French dance titan Vitalic's Paris based Citizen label in 2010. They've remixed Prodigy, Metronomy, The Whip and Klaxons and have recently launched their own Egregore label.
Their single 'Pitfalls & Corridors' is out now on South Central Records.

About Justin Michael:

Straddling the boundaries between underground credibility and commercial accessibility, Justin Michael has since emerged as a producer of choice for artists both inside and outside the electronic music realm. The past 18 months alone have seen him complete production work for none other than Bruno Mars and remix fellow Ultra label mates Kaskade and EDX as well as the likes of Ned Shepard, Jason Derulo’s chart-topping ‘Ridin’ Solo’ and Ludacris and Ciara’s ‘Ride’.
But make no mistake, when it comes to DJing, he knows how to rock a crowd, cutting his teeth in clubs on the Californian underground from his early teens. His style of uplifting house has seen him travel the world to play in clubs from London to Hong Kong.
