Say what you like about moombahton, but you can never call it dull. With new releases and artists appearing on a daily basis, the thrill of discovery and reinvention is one of the scene's biggest buzzes. Case in point: the rise of Sazon Booya, the New York duo of Mr Vega and DJ Sav, whose 'La Bomba', a blistering, tightly coiled firecracker of tweaking riffs and unquenchable latin beats appeared seemingly from nowhere to become one of the moombahton anthems of the year, catchingthe ear of Kissy Sellout, Kayper and Dave Nada into the bargain.
Ahead of their US tour the pair have returned from the studio with a new batch of sweltering belters in the form of the 'Moonlight' EP, switching from the low-slung, deep soulful vibes of the title track to the sweaty Latin bang of 'Bombo Tiempo'. So to get you in the mood for the release, the Booya boys have slipped Mixmag an exclusive cut from the EP, 'In Your Eyes'.
