Ahead of his London gig H.O.S.H has done a mix and answered the questions we ask every month
What did you want to be when you grew up?
First an architect, then a writer and later on just rich, cool and a rockstar. I’m still working on it…
What’s the worst club you’ve been to?
Must be some club in the German suburbs. Forgot the name though. Bacardi and Coke for a Euro, you get the idea.
What are you obsessed with right now?
Studio equipment (the expensive stuff). The feeling of a new piece of gear in your hands is just great.
And what do you hate right now?
Hate is a strong word. Although, I really hate paperwork and I’m always way too late with my taxes.
When and where were you your happiest?
I am always happy and at peace when it’s nearing the end of a night, when everything falls together and no questions remain. I guess that goes for every time I fall deeply in love, too.
How do you describe what you do to someone who doesn’t know you?
That really depends on the person. I do what I love. Music.
Have you ever been arrested?
It was close a couple times, but you know what? I’m fast. Well I used to be, at least when I was younger and I had to run.
What’s the best record ever made?
Michael Jackson – Billy Jean. It has it all!
What’s the coolest thing in your house?
My coffee-machine. The most addictive thing, also.
What do you collect – apart from records?
I am not really the collector type of guy, although I do like sunglasses and also own a few.
What’s your vice?
Smoking unfortunately
Who was your first love and what happened?
Music was my first love and it’ll be my last. Music of the future and music of the past…
What were you doing at 2pm last Sunday afternoon?
Last Sunday was kind of strange because I didn’t plan to go out on Saturday, and to do just the normal Sunday stuff everybody else is doing: to have brunch, take a walk, watch winter sports on TV and spend some time on the couch. But in the end I went out on Saturday, and woke up on Sunday around 2 pm. I jumped in the shower, ran to the bakery, bought some cake, took a girl out for dinner and managed to finish the day with Tatort – a German show that is running on TV every Sunday night. It was a struggle, but I did it all.

On a scale of one to ten, how good are you in the sack?
Haha, well it always takes two for this. With the right girl at the right time, I might do a 9. Well, you never stop learning right?
What’s your most prized possession that you’ve still got from when you were a kid?
That I bought myself? I really can’t think of anything, but I was always very keen the golden watch of my grandfather when I was a kid. Unfortunately he passed away a couple years ago, but my father gave me the golden watch.
Have you ever had a homosexual experience?
No. I am only into girls.
What was your last treat for yourself?
Besides material stuff? No idea. I should really do something for myself. Vacation would be great.
What do you spend your money on?
Gear, music and good food. I love quality food as I love to cook.
What’s your drug of choice?
Coffee and cigarettes. Do you really have to choose? Damn it!
What can’t you live without?
I have a good example of what I can live without, something I learned when I had my last holiday two years ago in Mexico with my ex-girlfriend. All our luggage got lost and we received it one week later. We just basically had the stuff with us that we were wearing on the flight. So what we found out when we finally got our stuff back was that we really didn’t need it as we were OK with what we had. Well, a toothbrush is helpful.
What would you change about yourself if you could?
I’d quit smoking and do sports. I’d also to take better care of the paperwork that needs doing.
If you had a Tardis, what time would you go to?
Hm, maybe John Wayne western time, like we know it from the movies?
What’s your lamest claim to fame?
I’ve spoken to Jimi Hendrix. Not joking! And I was captured by aliens once.
