COVER MIX: SETH TROXLER

Every month we upload the cover CD given away exclusively on the front of Mixmag. Here's the March 2014 mix from Seth Troxler. Stream it below

When Mixmag told the world, via Twitter, that his mix had finally arrived, Seth Troxler immediately tweeted back: “and it’s masterful!” He’s not wrong: this CD was mixed by Seth live in one take at Rinse FM HQ the night before he left for BPM in Mexico. From John Beltran and Matthew Herbert to Royal Dust and the disco-driven Midnight Magic anthem ‘Drop Me A Line’, it’s a smooth, Afro-centric trip that connects the dots from the mid-90s to the modern age. It’s also one of the best mixes we’ve delivered to you in years.

Get the Seth Troxler issue of Mixmag, including the cover mix, here.

Seth talks you through his exclusive Mixmag mix

John Beltran ‘Anticipation’

Fudge Fingas ‘Situation Diminished’
“A great transition from the Pépé record to the Villalobos remix”

6.
Spotkanie ‘Czemużeś Mnie Matuleńko’ (Margaret Dygas Impulse remix)
“I bought this the day I did the mix and it fitted perfectly. Thanks Phonica!”

7.

8.
King Britt Pres ObaFunke ‘Uzoamaka’
“Hardly anyone actually remembers this, but everything that this song says about life holds true – it’s a way of living I really want to promote”

9.
Ryan Crosson feat Aquarius Heaven ‘Head Above Water’
“This is a fantastic track from Ryan on our label Visionquest. Incredibly beautiful and deep”

Tuskegee ‘Time And Space’
“The first sketch of a track that The Martinez Brothers and I made in NYC a few months ago, and the reason we started our new label, Tuskegee. Let the revolution begin!”

10.
Simon Baker ‘Plastik’ (Todd Terje Türkatech mix)
“Something I found on Beatport recently and have been playing out loads. So mental, and so much energy”
